The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) successfully brought together participants from across the country in celebration of Olympic Day 2026 through its Olympic Day Chancellor Chip event, held on the Lady Chancellor Hill, St. Clair, on 27 June 2026.
This year's Olympic Day activities were held under the global theme, "Let's Move", which encouraged individuals, families, schools, workplaces, and communities to make movement a daily habit while recognizing the positive impact physical activity has on overall health and well-being.
Participants gathered at the Horticultural Society Building at approximately 3:00 p.m. before embarking on a community walk/chip, accompanied by a music truck that created an energetic atmosphere along the route.
The activity concluded at the top of Lady Chancellor Hill with an aerobics burnout session led by aerobics instructor Brent Elder, encouraging participants to finish the experience with energy and enthusiasm.
With close to 100 participants in attendance, the event brought together a diverse group of individuals, including national athletes—among them athletes preparing to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games and the Commonwealth Games—Special Olympics athletes, families, and young children.

Registered participants received bags containing products generously provided by sponsors, along with TTOC tokens and giveaways. Participants also competed for special prizes, which were awarded in the categories of Oldest Participant, Youngest Participant, Most Outstanding Participant, and Largest Team.
Commenting on the significance of Olympic Day, TTOC President Diane Henderson highlighted the role of sport in bringing people together and encouraging healthier communities.
"Olympic Day reminds us that sport is for everyone. It is not only about competition, but also about creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together, stay active, and experience the positive impact that movement can have on our lives,"
Henderson said.
She also emphasized the importance of building a culture of participation and encouraging individuals to make movement a part of their daily lives.
"This year's global theme, 'Let's Move?', serves as an important reminder that even simple actions can have a meaningful impact on our physical and mental well-being. We hope initiatives such as these continue to inspire individuals, families, and communities to embrace healthier lifestyles through movement and sport," she added.

Olympic Day was celebrated worldwide as an opportunity to encourage participation in sport and physical activity while promoting the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship, and Respect.
The TTOC expresses sincere appreciation to its sponsors and partners whose support contributed to the successful staging of the event, including Orion Travels, Blue Waters, First Citizens Bank, Every Bottle Back, and Graphics Designer, Kenneth Henry. Their contributions played an important role in enhancing the participant experience and supporting the successful delivery of the initiative.
The TTOC also recognized the invaluable contributions of its athletes, coaches, National Sporting Organizations, volunteers, partners, and supporters, whose continued commitment strengthens and advances sport development throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee extended its gratitude to all participants and stakeholders who contributed to the success of Olympic Day 2026 and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering initiatives that encourage lifelong participation in sport and physical activity while promoting the Olympic values throughout the nation.
